CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

POSITION: Sunday School Teacher
DESCRIPTION: Sunday School teachers teach kids about the most important things you could ever teach kids—Jesus and His love and saving grace for them! You will be a part of a teaching team for a specific age. Within your team, you will determine a scheduled teaching rotation. You will use a provided lesson with prepped supplies as your guide for opening and closing time in Sunday School.
TIME COMMITMENT: 10-16 Sunday mornings a year (Sunday School hour only)

POSITION: Big Group
DESCRIPTION: Elementary Big Group leaders need to be comfortable being in front of kids and being goofy! Using a guide, you will pretend to be a specific character to present the Bible story, main point and key passage. Preschool Big Group leaders need to be gifted at engaging children ages 3, 4, 5 and Kindergarten. You will lead them through singing and learning the Bible story and key passage.
TIME COMMITMENT: 10-12 Sunday mornings a year (ONLY 15 MINUTES during Sunday School hour)

POSITION: Children’s Church
DESCRIPTION: Using a lesson guide, you will lead 3s, 4s, 5s and Kindergarten through their very own kid worship time. This time is designed to engage children in song, games, crafts and watching the Bible story. The lesson guide is laid out so that ANYONE can do this! This Bible lesson is the same one they are hearing in Sunday School, so they are really getting a chance to experience the story through multiple application activities and hear it from different voices.
TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 worship services a quarter. No more than 6-8 times a year.

POSITION: Set Up Team
DESCRIPTION: Set up team is best for people who are attentive to details and love the idea of blessing our teachers by prepping all of their supplies so they don’t have to! You will prep all supplies for each Sunday School class (7 classes)  and Children’s Church (2 classes). You can do this any day and time of the week!
TIME COMMITMENT: 6-9 times a year (typically takes about 1-1.5 hours each week)

POSITION: Sunday Nights
DESCRIPTION: Preschool volunteers will help children to get elbow deep in the Bible story from the morning! This is the time to do all the fun activities church clothes prohibit! Most of this time is outside with a lot of free play as well—because they need it! This is a fun time that is ideal for building connections and bonds with these energetic little ones. 1st-3rd volunteers will help with WAM for Kids. This class incorporates music games and some music theory. Ideally, these volunteers will lead the charge on the children’s Christmas program. The Summit (4th-5th) volunteers will come alongside longtime, dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers to help teach children Bible basics and so much more! This class is an incredible tool for these kids to carry in their belt. Volunteers here would ideally train long-term with current teachers with the intent of taking over in years to come.
TIME COMMITMENT: 9-12 Sunday nights each semester (18-24 a year)

POSITION: Christmas Program
DESCRIPTION: Volunteers would be able to lead or help lead the children’s Christmas program. You would help pick the program and lead corresponding elements and your own volunteer team.
TIME COMMITMENT: 12 Sunday nights a year and other outside time

POSITION: VBS
DESCRIPTION: Planning volunteers will help pick curriculum and explore ways to implement various elements in the best ways possible over the course of the year before VBS. This team ideally helps to be a part of the leadership team the week of VBS as well, but is not required.
TIME COMMITMENT: 1 time a month Jan-April and 1 time every three months, July-December. Time in May would be as much as you want!
