Rev. Scott Castleman

Senior Pastor

First Pres welcomed Pastor Scott as their senior pastor in April 2009. A third generation Presbyterian pastor, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Belhaven before receiving his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Currently, he is working on a Doctorate of Ministry through Reformed Theological Seminary. A Louisiana native, Pastor Scott enjoys living on the Coast with his wife, Rebecca, daughter, Tyler, sons, Eben and Tate, and their dog, Jimbo.  Check out Pastor Scott’s blog, Soul Bacon, for his latest musings on a variety of topics.

Q: What is your favorite place to eat on the Coast?
A: Bozo’s in Pascagoula. It reminds me of my childhood.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: It’s between Chariots of Fire and Happy Gilmore.

Q: If you could have one talent that you don’t possess, what would it be?
A: The ability to fly.

Rev. Jon Tony

Associate Pastor of Family Ministry

Pastor Jon joined the FPCOS ministry staff as Associate Pastor in March 2011. After earning a bachelor’s degree in history from Calvin College, he went on to receive his Masters of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Emily, reside in Ocean Springs with their three children, Nathanael, Karis and Clara.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

Q: What is one place you have never been that you would love to visit?
A: The United Kingdom.

If you could have one talent that you don’t possess, what would it be?
A: To play professional baseball.

Aimie Barton

Director of Children’s Ministry

Aimie joined the FPCOS staff in June 2015 as the Children’s Ministry Director. A native of Chattanooga, Aimie earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in English from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, running and showing her creative side in making and repurposing things. She and her husband, Clay, live in Ocean Springs and have two children, Evangeline (Evie) and Miles.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: I like While You Were Sleeping or most anything with Sandra Bullock.

Q: What is one place you have never been that you would love to visit?
A:  Internationally, I would love to go to New Zealand.  Stateside would be Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Q: What was your favorite year in school?
A: Both freshman years (high school and college) were probably my favorite. Everything is new and exciting and like a blank canvas.

Luke Mittwede

Director of Youth Ministry

Luke began his ministry with FPCOS as the Ministry Director for Youth & Children in September 2012. He is a Belhaven graduate, earning a degree in Biblical Studies and International Studies. Luke and his wife, Mary, are enjoying life on the Coast with their two children, Magnolia and Steven, and their dog, Lois Lane.

Q: What is your favorite place to eat on the Coast?
A: Government Street Grocery.

Q: If you could spend the day with any person in the Bible besides Jesus, who would it be?
A: Moses.

Q: If you could have one talent that you don’t possess, what would it be?
A: World class skills in soccer, baseball or football…or all three!

Dianne Gish

Treasurer

After moving to the Coast from Tallahassee in 2006, Dianne joined the FPCOS team in July 2007 and is now our church treasurer.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her master’s degree from Troy State, both in elementary education.  She and her husband, Gary, have two children.

Q:  What is your favorite place to eat on the Coast?
A:  Anthony’s.

Q:  If you could spend a day with any person in the Bible besides Jesus, who would it be?
A:  Mary.

Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A:  Field of Dreams.

Monica Litke

Office Administrator

Monica joined the FPCOS team in May 2010 as the Office Administrator.  A Gulf Coast native, she graduated from Long Beach High School and attended college for two years before leaving school to marry Mike, who is now a retired USAF Chief who served eight tours of duty in Iraq/Afghanistan.  Married for 32 years, she and Mike have five children and nine grandchildren.

Q:  If you could spend a day with any person in the Bible besides Jesus, who would it be?
A:  Mary, mother of Jesus – what a mixture of feelings she must have had – seeing her son suffer, yet knowing He was saving all from eternal death!

Q:  What is one place you have never been that you would love to visit?
A:  Wittenberg Castle in Germany where Martin Luther supposedly nailed his 95 Theses to the door.

Q:  If you could have one talent that you don’t possess, what would it be?
A:  I wish I could play a musical instrument.   

Stacy Ramsey

Communications Coordinator

Stacy joined the FPCOS team in May 2012 as a part-time Office Administrator before transitioning into the Communications Coordinator position in 2014. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of South Alabama and has over 13 years of experience in marketing and communications. She and her husband, Kevin, live in Ocean Springs with their three cats, Sniper, Karma and Junco, and their dog, Iggy.

Q:  If you could spend a day with any person in the Bible besides Jesus, who would it be?
A:  Peter or Andrew.

Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A:  It’s a toss-up – Airplane! or Dead Poets Society.

Q:  If you could have one talent that you don’t possess, what would it be?
A:  Being fluent in another language. 

Dr. Joye Shanteau

Congregational Counselor

Joye is a Clinical Psychologist with a Ph.D. from USM.  She and her husband, Marc, are longtime residents of Ocean Springs and members of First Pres.  They have four children and four grandchildren.  Joye returned to school in 1975 with a calling for Christian Counseling.  She has been ministering to individuals and families in the community since 1985.

Q:  If you could spend the day with any person in the Bible besides Jesus, who would it be?
A:  I would love to spend a day with Mary – and to learn how she thought and felt as the mother of Jesus.

Q:  What is your favorite place to eat on the Coast?
A:  Phoenicia.  I love the hummus and flat bread.

Q:  What is one place you have never been but would love to visit?
A:  I would love to go to New Zealand – a land that has always fascinated me.

Reggie Bates

Worship Band Leader

Reggie has been serving at FPCOS since February 2004.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Oklahoma State University in 1976.  He and his wife, Kay, have three children, Clay, Loren and Kristina, and also a four-legged child – their dog, Samantha.  In his spare time, Reggie enjoys playing guitar, songwriting, photography, traveling and spending time with his family.

Q:  If you could spend the day with any person in the Bible besides Jesus, who would it be?
A:  David.  I would like to hear him sing and play.  What a worship leader!

Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A:  School of Rock.

Q:  What is one place you have never been but would love to visit?
A:  Italy.

Dr. Michaelle Harrison

Organist/Choir Director

Michaelle joined the FPCOS team in April 2013 as our organist and choir director.  She received her Bachelor of Music in organ from MUW before earning her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in organ from the University of Alabama.  Michaelle teaches at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and also plays with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra.  A native of Starkville, Michaelle and her husband, Paul, have two children, David and Anna Laurin.

Q:  What is your favorite place to eat on the Coast?
A:  Phoenicia Gourmet Restaurant.

Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A:  Gone with the Wind.

Q:  What is one place you have never been that you would love to visit?
A:  The cathedrals and organs of Europe.

Anne Hawkins

Accompanist – 11:00 AM Worship

Anne joined the FPCOS team in April 2007 as a musical accompanist at our 11 AM worship.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in special education and is a retired psychometrist for Moss Point schools.  Anne and her husband, Bob, have one daughter, Melanie, and a grandson, Michael.

Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A:  Schindler’s List.

Q:  What was your favorite year in school?
A:  Senior year.

Q:  What is one place you have never been that you would love to visit?
A:  New Zealand.

Timothy Johnson

Vocalist/Accompanist – 8:45 AM Worship

Timothy joined the FPCOS praise team as a vocalist/accompanist in January 2014.  He works full-time in the management program at Huntington Ingalls in Pascagoula.  He and his wife, Rachel, have two children, Isabella and Iliana.  Timothy loves the Lord, music and motorcycles!

Q:  What is your favorite movie?
A:  The Holiday.

Q:  What was your favorite year in school?
A:  Third grade.

Q:  What is one place you have never been that you would love to visit?
A:  Dubai.

Steve Taylor

Audio Engineer

Serving at FPCOS since March 2011, Steve uses his years of experience as a Master Broadcaster to ensure that our audio and video run smoothly during worship every Sunday and even plays with the praise band sometimes!  He holds a B.A. degree in Music Education and Performance from Southern Arkansas University and a B.S. degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences from Mississippi State.  Steve is a father of seven (Brittany, Allie, Dylan, Jordan, Gracie, Walker and Lola) and grandfather of three (Peyton, Hayden and Jaylah).  Steve and his wife, Susan, have been married since 2000.

Q:  What is your favorite place to eat on the Coast?
A:  Edd’s Drive-In in Pascagoula.

Q:  What is your favorite year in school?
A:  Junior year of high school.

Q:  If you could have one talent that you don’t posses, what would it be?
A:  Multi-limb independence.  I’d love to be able to drum like Buddy Rich or Neil Peart.
