Come meet our new Assistant Pastor of Missions and Congregational Care, Pastor Kory Duncan, and his family as we host DONUTS WITH THE DUNCANS on Sunday, January 21 in the courtyard following both worship services! Join us for donuts, juice and coffee and help us welcome the Duncans into our church family! To help introduce them to the Coast, please consider contributing local gift cards to some of your favorite places!
If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to have a date night, look no further! The high school students of FPCOS are raising funds for their RYM summer trip to Colorado and are putting together a BABYSITTING NIGHT (ages infant to 10) in the Fellowship Hall/Education Building. Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 20 from 5:30 PM – 8 PM and plan a special night out while helping our students raise funds for their trip. RSVP to Luke Mittwede at email@example.com or 601-209-2905 no later than Thursday, January 18!
Two new Sunday School classes for adults kick off this Sunday, January 7!
Pastor Jon will be leading VISIONARY PARENTING in the south side of the Fellowship Hall. This new Sunday School class is aimed at equipping parents to teach their children to love God with all their heart. We will be studying the book and DVD Visionary Parenting with times of discussion together about how to apply the content in our homes.
Dr. Tom Bevill will kick off a 12-week study in the chapel called FOLLOWING JESUS and it will invite us to review the story of Jesus’ earthly ministry as presented in the Gospels and have a special emphasis on renewing our personal calls to discipleship. Dr. Bevill is a former professor of Marriage and Family Counseling and Christian Studies at the University of Mobile.
Sunday School classes will also continue in the north side of the Fellowship Hall, in the conference room and in the bridal room (next to the choir room). There’s something for everyone!
Share in the joy of our Savior’s birth! We will have FOUR worship services on CHRISTMAS EVE! At 10 AM, we will have ONE combined service and close out our sermon series, Even So, Come, for the fourth Sunday of Advent. Worship continues that evening at our Christmas Eve candlelight services at 5 PM (organ/choir), 7 PM (praise team) and 11 PM (communion in the chapel). We hope to see you there!
Our church family will be CHRISTMAS CAROLING on Sunday, December 17, and we’d love to have you join us! We will gather at 4 PM at the church. After caroling, we will return to the church for a chili supper in the Fellowship Hall! All children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. If you would like to volunteer for supper, we need crockpots of chili and chili toppings. Please contact Gay O’Neil at 872-2355 if you would like to serve in this way.
