Stephen Ministry is Coming to FPCOS!

Stephen Ministry is coming to FPCOS in 2017!

Stephen Ministry equips congregational members to offer care and support for people experiencing life difficulties, such as the death of a loved one, job crisis, aging, separation or divorce, long-term illness, spiritual crisis or for many other concerns.  The mission of Stephen Ministry in our church is to know the love and care of Jesus Christ and to make that love and care of Jesus Christ known together.

As we begin to get this ministry up and running, the first thing we need are Stephen Ministers.  A Stephen Minister is a church member who is willing to enter into a one-on-one, confidential relationship with someone else in our congregation for a period of 3 months to a year.  Each Stephen Minister will receive 50 hours of training in preparation for this ministry.  This training will begin in the fall of 2016 and finish in February 2017.

Do you have a heart for loving and caring for others?  We invite you to join us for an INFORMATIONAL MEETING on Tuesday, June 28 at 6 PM in the 3rd floor conference room, where we will discuss more details about Stephen Ministry and answer any questions you may have.

If you can’t make the meeting but are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, please contact Lynne Davis or Janet Pattison.  For more info on receiving care from a Stephen Minister in the future, please contact Pastor Jon.
