We are getting ready to publish a brand new FPCOS CHURCH COOKBOOK! These are treasured keepsakes, and we are excited to offer a new one. Cookbooks will be padded, hardcover, 3-ring binder style and will cost $20. Any profits from this project will be donated to the Hospitality Committee to help fund refreshments in The Commons each week. The deadline to order cookbooks and submit recipes is Wednesday, August 18. The books will be here in time for Christmas gifts, so be sure to order for yourself and loved ones!
To submit your recipes, visit www.typensave.com. The username is fpcos and the password is spatula133.
There are easy-to-follow instructions, which include tips for submitting recipes. Once you type in the recipe, you can go to the top for spellcheck and to preview. Once it is correct, just click save at the top. It’s as simple as that! After submitting, you can go to the previous page and click ‘view recipes’ to confirm that your recipe is there. If we have exact duplicates, we will combine the contributor names. If we have multiple similar recipes, we may need to omit some and only use the most thorough recipes. In order to avoid duplicates, you can go to the ‘view recipes’ section to see what has already been submitted. Recipes found online can also be submitted; however, recipe titles that include brands or proper names are not allowed.
Do you have the gift of hospitality? We are looking for GREETERS on Sunday mornings at FPCOS! You will be greeting people as they arrive for worship, passing out bulletins and collecting the offering. You will need to arrive 30 minutes before the service you sign up for. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to serve together, but also a great way for singles and couples to plug in and serve as well! Pick a date and service time and sign up below! In the comments, please indicate how many will be greeting (please include yourself).
Use the navigation in the video player below to browse through our archive of full worship services since mid-March 2020.
Many people ask: How do I get to know Christ? How do I get to know the will of God? The answer: read the Word! God’s Word is a treasure book for all people. John Piper states, “From Genesis to Revelation, God’s words and God’s deeds reveal God himself for our knowledge and our enjoyment.”
During August, we will be walking through the books of Romans and 1 & 2 Timothy. This one-month, self-study will guide us as we read and meditate on God’s Word. Paul’s theme to the Romans is the basic gospel, God’s plan of salvation and righteousness for all mankind, Jew and Gentile alike. 1 & 2 Timothy looks at false teachings, supervision of a growing church, appointment of qualified church leaders, and the welfare of the churches during the time of Nero. Paul encourages Timothy to persevere, keep preaching, and if necessary, suffer for it.
